COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION
​

As the Board Executive Secretary for ArATE I helped plan and execute the yearly Arkansas ATE conference, integral to which was ongoing communication with educators around the state. Arkansas was even awarded with the National Articulation Award in 2016
-
As a university professor I interface daily via phone, email, and through face to face interactions with hundreds of students assigned to my various classes. I also advise and mentor students, work collaboratively with faculty members and K-12 partners on a vast array of projects and communicate with administers and support staff that interface with the programs I run.
-
As an educational leader and researcher I have served on multiple state (ArATE), national (ATE) and international (ACEI) committees, taskforces and non-profit organizational boards all of which require a great deal of both face to face and virtual interactions, communication and collaboration.
-
As a consultant effective communication is critical since you are constantly interfacing with different people, regarding vastly different projects, deadlines and expectations, and timely, meaningful feedback is imperative.
-
And in my service to the LDS church's Curriculum Resource Committee, my ability to consistently and communicate has played an integral role in my capacity to understand my roles and responsibilities and to achieve the goals for the projects outlined in the time frame and at the level of transparent complexity required.

INTERNATIONAL INTERESTS AND INVOLVEMENT

I currently serve on the National Association of Teacher Educator’s (ATE) Commission on Social Justice and Access to Equitable Education in the Global Community. On this commission I serve with academics from around the U.S. designing, deploying and disseminating research on effective teacher education programs and practices from around the world.

I serve as a member of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education (JRCE) Editorial Board which is comprised of an international board who reviews empirical research from all regions of the world on various topics related to children.
-
Previous to the appointment to serve on the JRCE editorial board I served on the Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI) Research Committee.
-
I also currently serve on as a member of the Early Childhood Development Task Force (ECDtf) of the Global Partnership on Children with Disabilities (GPcwd) where we review, discuss and advocate for a variety of global issue related to children with special needs.
