Preparation Phase 1 (For all learning activities)
1) Learning Environment- When possible a table should be provided so that children/learners can have a place to read from their scriptures and write in their notebooks. For younger children a rug or other location where they can transition to would be beneficial as well.

2) The opening prayer should always include an invite for the Holy Ghost (2 Nephi 32:5) to be with the group as they learn about God's will through studying His words.

3) Children should always have their scriptures and notebooks/journals with them. Tablets are a resource not a substitute.

4) A few minutes should be reserved at the beginning of each lesson to discuss how they did with their "invitation to act" from the previous lesson.

In an introduction to Moses 1, the Prophet Joseph Smith wrote: “The Lord, who well knew our infantile and delicate situation, vouchsafed for us a supply of strength, and granted us ‘line upon line of knowledge—here a little and there a little,’ of which the following was a precious morsel” (History of the Church, 1:98).
